Hi Steve - I'm in the process of stripping out my mk2 ph1, was wondering what she might weigh in at, but the only figures I could find were 860kg for a standard GTi, but I'm assuming that's possibly for US / Australian cars that came with Air Con etc?

Any ideas on what a stock uk spec GTi weighs?

I wanna calculate what weight mine should be.

Cheers, Neil.

Cheers Steve, I've already stripped about 30kg from the car, with about another 20kg to go. Not really going mental on it, I've stripped out the sound deadening, rear seats and trim, no stereo etc, I'm just gonna leave the front seats as they are and whack some lightweight carpet in the front for the meantime.
