Post  robinsonj1 on Sat Feb 06, 2010 6:04 pm

just finished assembling everything-went to start it
battery was dead
put battery on charge, got semi charged then put the jump leads on
connecting to another car
once jump leads were connected smoke started coming out of the alternator
does this mean its bolloxed
or have i earthed it wrong
the big green plug is in and the bit what sticks out of the top is connected the a o shaped connector
smoked when green 1 was unplugged and the stoppped smokin when the wire was took off the genrator output

any ideas????
