Swift GTi Strut Brace

Post  garndi on Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:02 pm

Strutbrace with 4th engine mount to help out the old sloppy Swift ones.

These have been a long time in the making. The angles were really hard to get right.

I have made the brace to the engine really strong. Bolts to the Gear Box top rear bolt, the inlet manifold stud & the top hole of the distributor.

ATM these have only been tested on my Swift that has been modified, So all going to plan I will get hold of a standard GTi on Wednesday (test them) so that they can go out the door

I have done a small run of these and if they sell well I will make some more.

The one pictured above is painted (teenage mutant ninja turtle green) & will be available for sale.

I will be buying paint soon to do the other 4 so if your interested please let me know the colour of your choice.

As a lot of money and stupid amount of hours went into making these, laser cut flanges and the complete process was done at my friends machine shop, the cost per item is £150 + postage.

If your interested let me know.

They don't feel too bad. We had to make them really strong as there used for a 4th engine mount, so there is a bit of weight in them.

I made them for my car and I am very fussy when it come to weight, so I am also interested to find out Very Happy.

I will get the total weight when I work out the shipping costs and let you all know.

Did not get the chance to try them on Adam's car today, stuck at work all day and its pissing down outside... Mad .

Will get some more pic's soon + road test them.
