0-60mph

Post  swift-by-nature on Mon Feb 21, 2011 7:33 pm

So today i was doing a few 0-60 to see what the car could do, timed it and averaged around 10 seconds, i drive a 1999 1.3 gls swift, done 67k miles. All stock/factory fitted except the rear seats and all plastic trim has been stripped back to bare metal and rust. I read on a website a 1.3 swift would do 0-60 in around 12.6 seconds so i was wondering if having the back stripped of all non essentials would drop 2.6 seconds from 0-60. It seems a lot to me.

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Detail.aspx?deriv=11542

info on the car.
u would probably have to lose about 40-50 kg to do 10 sec, dunno how much the seats weigh, not much.
have you got rid of the spare wheel and the jack.
if it is doin 10's fair play

spare wheel and jack are still in the car, a puncture would be a big problem as i do 130 miles a day commuting to and from work. insurance and petrol companys love me

EDIT- i was using parkers for the info aswell, great site
