Re: Turbo

Post  Miniswift on Wed Nov 18, 2009 9:33 pm

Hi,

Even though, DMW Dave gave me an advise. I'm making mine with 1.5" tubes for all 4 of them. Also, my flange for Turbo will be made with 1.75" fitting.

What I'm trying to do is to make turbo manifold which I can use in small space.
So Steve, your design(equal length) will be end up costly with this setup I'm sure. For me, I would like to keep round front and std length of my Mini so it will be a sleeper..... then again 2" roof chop and raked screen might not be classified as std Rolling Eyes .

Anyway, I would think each to their own. This will be my setup and if it works, I'm happy! Also, you can say I made this!

I like challenges why do you think I'm building my mini with Gti engine in first place!?

Cheers
Atchi

steve mate, if you get the right power and feed then the mig will look just fine, as long as you`v got a steady hand that is Wink
even if it dont look pretty then sand it off and polish

Hi Steve,

I found one spare SS flange in my garage.
It is 38mm bore size so that I can fit 1.5" OD pipe staright in and weld around it.

Let me know if you want it.

Cheers

Hi Gary,

Yes I got it.
I was going to reply once I got circle ones made then I was going to get in touch with you.

I have made new flange.
It was cheaper for me to cut the other one up.

Also, I have made modifiactions to TBs also.

So, when I'm bored with my NA setup. I can use Turbo/super charged engine!

Once I get everything, I will send you mine to weld up. Then I get one spare set made for you as a payment of welding job!

Cheers
