grippers are a combo of clutch and locking plates with a cross pin for the locking plates

mm i did not know that do you get that stiff clicking and kick back on the steering around corners

yeah you get the click at slow speeds, it woz alot worse when it was new
the worse bit of the diff is when your crusing and going around a long shallow bend, just now and again the diff will slip and shes all over the road for a second, but you can go round the same corner with a bit of pedal and its fine
iv driven a car with a clutch type before and i would say the gripper is more for the track, it locks alot quicker and harder than the other, but that was a o/e diff so i guess it was more setup for the road
