get yourself a manifold and a set of GSXr carbs and away you go,should run without any changes to ecu, well they did on my 205 gti but you will need to get a fuel pressure regulator to get the fuel pressure down from the what it runs with injection or it wont work

i might have a set of throttle bodies and manifold for sale later in the year off my race car when i get the jenveys fitted but you will have to run with a mapped ecu to do that, but sound great lol

im running twin 40 dellortos on my gti. sounds awesome!!
most people prefer motorbike carbs though these days but i picked them up cheap.

when you get a set of carbs sorted you will need:

custom manifold (i had mine made by bogg bros)
fuel pressure reg (set to about 3psi)
low pressure fuel pump (standard pump will knacker the regulator after a while)
mk1 vac advance dizzy (or you will have no ignition advance)
custom throttle cable

injector holes need to be blanked off
also i had issues with the carbs fouling the brake servo and had to re route my vac pipe.
Then your carbs will need to be jetted on the rolling road

Jessey,

I thought you wanted my ITBs setup!?

I have now more or less completed 80%.

So, it has 36mm bore x4 and you can used your std injections.
It has a TPS and thiking of using bigger capacity MAF from Vitara for you to run with your std ECU.

stop thinking honestly turbo it if you want cheap power or do the usual bolt on mods if your on a budget you wont like the outcome otherwise and no you cant run carbs on a ecu and stock dizzy how the feck will the timing advance bounce just listen and learn

Hey Steve,

You can indeed run with stdard ECU with carbs.
But you are right, there won't be any advance and you will be driving in limp home mode with engine light on, all the time.
Bruce aka Hamgar used to run with 932 cams with 45 DCOE webers. I think he was getting close to 135Bhp and it was class winning sprint car. His car was not everyday driver so I won't recommend it to anyone.

I think turboing your car will be cheapest option for power increase for ££s you spend.
Still, you will be looking at minimum £1k just for parts to do it well.
I think if you are going this route, you will need to have your gearbox sorted or go Justy gearbox.

I know how good turbo is as Jerry's toy is over 250Bhp for sure but with 4WD with LSDs which I found for him. I have driven his car when it was only Shocked 180Bhp. It was very smooth and quick. Power is nothing without control or if you can't use it by wheels spinning( this will kill your diff!).

So increasing power slightly(usable), I think this will be a great improvement.

What do you think?

Cheers

I would love a turbo but i think i dont even want like a extra 100 bhp i would be happy with a extra 30 bhp and smaller final drive so more acceleration
