noobie from manchester building a car
hello all, im chris from manchester in the UK. im currently building a locost 7 kit car with the swift gti engine.
a few weeks ago i bought my little swift gti engine. had been stood for over 2 years due to head gasket failing. so wasnt in the best of condations but as its so light and has good potential i thought why not.
1.3 gti 1990 G13b engine with 101 bhp before any mods.

number 2 or 3 isnt in the best shape... but working with it

over night storage in my bathroom

sent head off for skimming today... 45 mins later and £15 down its skimmed
win win ... only 8thou was taken off he said.

now to clean that block

quick coat of high temp paint.

currently using my bath room as a work shop to rebuild this engine but currently reseating the valvues etc..

pastel blue rocker

rusty valvue

getting their

getting head bolts has proven to be difficult, so in the end i just bought some from the bmw m50 engine as i read they would do the job. tonight i plan to strap the head back on and then need to get the head cleaned up and painted.
plans for it are to get hold of a mega squirt ecu and edis 4 or higher. run it on the ford coil pack. then just need a jimny or sj413 gearbox...
as i just collected this engine already out of the car, theirs a few pipes etc im not 100% sure of yet, but will ask for help once its togerher and i know whats what
cheers for reading and all help and advice would be apriciated
