braided brake line fittings?

Guys,
anyone know what the hole in the swivel coupling is on the attached fitting. they all seem to have it. inside mine looks to be a different metal piece to the rest oft he body? Is it a locking pin to be pushed in after tightening.
Anyone?

the pin secures the two parts together yet alows it to rotate.
