99 swift 1.3 gls dizzy gasket

Post  swift-by-nature on Sat Jul 30, 2011 10:51 am

After i had my radiator pierced by a stone flying at lightspeed and didnt realise until i stopped after 40 odd miles, the engine was obviously slightly hotter than normal. Luckily the head gasket is holding up but looks like the dizzy gasket has met its match.

Anyone know who/where to get one? cheers

Went to a local general car part shop, they recomended making one out of gasket paper. The dizzy itself is slgihtly warped from the heat so would it be possible to make 2 gaskets and put them on together to thicken it up? the current gasket is paper anyway

no point in using a gasket if u going use silicone, just use the silicone without gasket if thats what u want to do. else the silicone has to seal two faces rather than 1 if u didnt use the gasket.

guy in the shop said the same thing until he had a look under the bonnet, said it would be a lot less hassle to spend £1 on a piece of gasket paper instead of going to a suzuki dealer. hes never let me down so i took his advice and went with the paper
