Insurence

Post  racecams on Tue Aug 02, 2011 9:08 am

Hi I am 18 and a mechinic (autotec). And due to admitting beening in the motortrade have stupid quotes for insurents. my first year on my swift gls I was quoted just over £5000 I then eventually found it for £3000 with a curfew! Now my renewals up an there asking £2300 with 1 years NBC. In my opinion that is takin the p@£! Still! so I phoned adrian flux and they wanted £2400! Good for Young drivers my a@@£!

Does anyone know of anyone that could help me?
Thanks cam

Also try fully comp instead of third party fire theft.

Sounds crazy but sometimes insurance companies will charge less for a fully comp quote then a third party one! Rolling Eyes

For example. I am currently using my full no claimes on another car so got a quote for my gti with no no-claims. Third party £750, Fully comp £191!

Try it out on a comparison web site and see if it works for you.

best thing to but is that your a car builder or gardener thats always cheapest for me also say your car is for social only get a limited milage policy eg 5000 miles a year and also what ever your cheapest quote is online ring adrian flux they normally will beat it you need to be 25 for traders inscurance some do it at 23 its odd. car inscurance will always be expensive for you because of your age

i think its got quite alot 2 do with post codes aswell

http://www.motorcarinsuranceuk.co.uk/post-code-ratings.php

cus when i was looking at insurance for my ex, 18 , 0 no claims her named and only driver £1000 for a 306 hdi alot quicker than a swift gls. also it was only £1700 for a swift gti for her.

unless womens insurance is alot cheaper, even tho women cant drive! FACT!

i wanted to get a 1l swift for daily use, last year cheapest insurance was 1500, right now it starts at 3500... a stock gti starts at 5500 for me... you can buy a pretty good car for that much... will try getting some papers from insurances and police from back home maybe it will count as a ncb of some sorts, almost 4 years of driving without a single accident must count for something...
