gearbox swap gti

basically ,bought a gti box, all fine no whines yet pops out of third
told the syncros must have worn or sumthin

i no the 1.3 gls gearboxes fit but the ratios are longer
apparantly 1 and 2nd are the same ratios and 3rd 4th and fifth are longer

with them being longer-
it shouldnt make a diferance if im havin a race so to speak coz i could just change gear sooner
am i right n does that make sense??

cheaper option than gettin z box rebuild isnt it lol

just buy a new synchro there not even expensive jls box would be shit in a gti unless you had like 200 bhp

Hi,

1300 gearbox will drop too much revs.
The Gti gearbox is close ratio so that it keeps in torque curve of the engine.
I have 2 Gti gearboxes, so if you want 1 let me know.

i used to use the gls box, pulled 110mph in 3rd and didn't have enough power to go any faster in 4th.

If you do alot of motorway miles then its ok because you can get about 50mpg cruizing in 5th, but for power stick with the gti box

how much are the syncros about?

would mean takin the box apart woulndt it
dont know how to do that and gearbox centres round my way are exspensive lol

i dont think there expensive im buying 1st 2nd and 3rd syhnros for gearbox getting built
