Laughing if i had the room i would do the same steve
i used to be a machinest before i stared sheet metal fabrication
i used to love doing the manual work on the lathes/mills but there isnt much call for manual work nowadays so i ended up on a cnc machine, BORING!!
put a lump of metal in, shut it all up, make sure its the right programe and push go, then stand there for 20mins while the machine dus its stuff Sleep
thats why i turned to sheet metal, its alot more involving
