Running problems

Post  racecams on Sun Oct 09, 2011 7:32 pm

Hi,
I'm having some running isusses, I have recently switched back to injection ( had fireblade carbs that was done by the last owner) but it's now idleing high and when you try to rev it the revs drop off? I still have a mk1 dizzy on it, will it solve it if I switch back?
The afm is back on along with most of the induction kit. It is also running abit rich still.

Does any one have any pics or diagrams of then engine I.e where the pipes and plugs go so I can double check as most of it was a combination of using pics off google an gess work lol.
Cheers.

Not enough info.
Is your car mk1 or post mk2?
If your car is mk2 and after, it won't run as so many signal for ECU to work.

Do you still have MAF and TPS?

Good luck.

Now dizzy, tps,afm and lambda all on an to be hounest I'm not sure if it better or worse ? It's still not right. I might burn it! Any ideas would really help. I got a work shop manual on disc just need a computer now lol ( I on the site now with phone) I have a new fuel reg an it set too 2.7bar which according to the autodata at my work is about right ( it say 2.5 to 2.7 ) so the fuel side of things looks to be ok. As for the air the breather pipe from the rocker is not on the induction pipe as I don't have the right one for the car and the one off the intake is not connected ether but on other cars they don't seem to make tht much diff? please help

sounds like an air leak, what gasket is being used on the manifold to head junction? are all unused hose ends blocked

mine wont run if you disconnect the hose from the air intake to the rail on top the intake manifold, could be your problem......
