Hi Gary,

Me likey!
How much torque do you think this baby can take?
I see it is still using springs so engagement of gears will be still dumpped.
Is it ceramic material?

As you can imagine, I'm looking for hybrid plate to use with my future project with Volvo 360 gearbox with G13B turbo engine. This might be the one to use with a HD pressure plate I have.
Do you think you can get me one made if I send you money and spare clutch plate?

I might want 5 pack instead of 4pack....

Cheers
Atchi

I sent up an old gti plate told him the power outputs etc, all I know is more paddles there are the more drivability it will have
Im sure he can sort you out, just send up the volvo plate and get a 190mm friction surface fitted to suit swift cover, sorted
The place is called cg motorsports in leeds

Hi Gary,

I don't know what I want to do as yet.
I will be using a Gti flywheel, dual spring pressure plate and Gti paddle clutch. I'm thinking of shortening Volvo prop shaft by 300mm and by doing this, I can fit Gti input shaft where spline is to Volvo prop.

Your idea is good but I think volvo clutch spline is much bigger and bearing in flywheel is too small for it.... too much modification using volvo clutch.... Also, I'm hoping to use G13B bell housing grafting to Volvo.

cheers

could always machine the crank to take a bigger input shaft bearing on the fly side
so is the vulva gearbox a transaxle type in the rear axel?
why not use an sj box for rwd?

Hi Gary,

There a few reason why I chose a 360 gearbox.
It has a torque tube which covers prop shaft and gearbox is where rear axels are.
By having the next heavy thing in the back weight distribution will be near 50/50. By using a Sj gearbox with Sierra diff and so on, I can get it built cheaply. But I want to build RWD a Midus Gold or a Mini Estate to compete in a 16v Mini Sprint either with G10 turbo or G13B turbo. Most of 16v Minis are FWDs and Jerry's 4WD. I never owned a RWD car before, so why not build one!?

Since I managed to get hold of a complete setup of Volvo gearbox for £150 with driveshafts and so on. I'm not complaining. Also, SJ gearbox will require a lot of modification to accomodate in either in Mini shell or GRP Midus kit car as gearbox will be larger than the torque tube.

Cheers

i see, so you could use an sj bellhouse to fit to the volvo t/tube, where originaly it bolts to the sj gearbox you can have a flat plate on there and bolt the t/tube to that

turbo rwd, with a mini wheelbase!!

Hi Gary,

I need a clutch lever mechanism so a SJ bell housing is out.
I will be cutting up my spare mk1 Gti bell housing and I will get it welded up....
Well, I might send it down and ask you to weld it up.....
I need to cut it up and make it tidy then ask machinist to mill flat volvo side. Before I do that, I will need to measure from the bulk head to the centre line of the rear wheel arches. By doing so, I know what length I need to cut from my turque tube.

Still long way to go yet but I need to finish my first project, as well.... then I got another baby coming in end of Jan '12... I got a lot on my plate for sure!

Cheers

Hi,

I got mine modified and it looks super!
It has full 32 rivets! Gary's has 16 rivets and springs looks smaller diameter wire.

They did excellent jobs and cost me £168 delivered with 5 paddles and new/resurfaced HD pressure plate.

hey?

My Black AWD in the UK is still running a dmwdave clutch (not changing that), the above ^ is not mine.

Unless your thinking about my white gti turbo?, and that has some random custom solid plate 4 puck clutch works well but the above look much nicer.

I lost the numbers on my phone, send me a txt so I have your number again.
