Hi,

Can you not get Piper to re grind your cams?
You send yours and £200. You should be able to get either Cultus spec or a fast road spec.
What you are talking about may be a regrind and customs are solid billet ones. It may cost over £300+VAT...

Cultus cams I doubt will make any difference there only 0.5mm higher lift and they have the same duration as stock I think, Piper seem a pain in the ass because there isnt like a main supplyer

Fuck that shit with a dremel just pour sand down the inlet while its revving at high rpm. I guarantee the honda boys who know do it everyday and it gives instand port and polish of inlet and exhaust reshapes the chambers based on airflow...its optimum cause like water air takes path of least resistance so the sand blasts the right shape combustion chamber based on inlet and exhaust shape and combustion size. also does a nice job of waisted stem valves and reseats them too if revved hard enough. then get a 24 volt truck battery and install that instead of the wimpy suzuki battery. everyone knows 24 volts gives better ooomph to the electrical system so the injectors will inject twice as much 24/12=2 the spark will be twice as big to ignite twice as much fuel and of course there will be twice as much air cause the sand has opened everything up nicely. Its perfect solution and cheap, just dont go to a UK beach the sand (pebbles) is too course, you want that shit that comes out of iceland and cleans jet engines while in flight. but dont forget the revs have to be just right, too little and youll just clog te engine up, too much and the samd moves too quick to work. I think its about 9600 rpm. Dont need a camshaft then or a super chip as you go the best of all worlds. I swear its what F! guys used to do inthe age of seasoning BMW 4 cylinder blocks with piss and age.

Go for it mate.

Would the full race/rally cam be a high reving cam??

It might sound like a daft question but I am looking at the spare engine I have in the zukished and making plans.

I prefer a high reving engine as for some reason it suits my driving style. I think thats from years of racing in Mazda rotary powered cars where my engines were built (without sand porting Very Happy ) to run at peak bhp between 6000 and 10000 rpm.
I just love high revs Twisted Evil

You will need to have solid lifter with that kind of revs.
You will need to change springs, too. ECU have to be changed to take out rev limit.

You need to change spec of engine, too.
Especially con-rod bolts if you are keeping std rods. You can change it to after market con rods so that you can rev it. You can use Honda pistons may be 76mm to have high CR, as well.

Good luck with it. Andy made similar engine with forged pistons. Ask him for his advice.
