REMOVING ORIGINAL STICKERS

Post  STEVEGTI on Wed Mar 26, 2008 6:51 pm

right am thinking of doing this myself and have been reading up about it

1 heat up the sticker with a hair dryer
2 peel or pick it away [ or use some dental floss or a fine piece of wire to saw behind it once warm ]
3 all the glue left use a candy wheel to buff away or if you wanna be cheap wash with warm water and a sponge for hours
4 a bit of couler restorer and a wax and ya done

have also read that darker swifts perticulaly may suffer from faded paint also depends on tha age and condition of the paintwork happy debadging Very Happy Very Happy

i used a dryer, and they peeled right off. left some of the glue behind which concerned me at first but then i just rubbed it with a cloth while it was still warm and it was as easy as that.

Hair-dryer + (hot!) fingers!!
Residue removed with a cloth and meths, needs a few goes, be patient while it softens, come back to difficult bits once it is soaked in.
Paintwork now vunerable as all coatings removed so wax-up.
Job done!
