Hi All

HI Im Brian im in ireland! Had a couple of swifts now, just after a full engine rebuild on my current one, 1991, red, done everything from top to bottom, having a little bother with thew immobiliser at the min, cant get the spark or fuel pump going, anyway, hopefully i can get help on here!

i think you`d be better off speakin to someone that fits alarms mate, imobs can be tricky things

yea well not sure now if its it or not, dont think there is an immobiliser in it now confused , removed thealarm and watever it consisted of but still nothing, mabey its my coil, is there anyway of testing them,

best thing to do is get one of those cd factory manuals off ebay, you can get the proper manual but this is the cheapest way
it tells you everything you need to know

for the pump check the fuse then continuity in the circuit ignition on and off [under engine bay] then relay then if nothing try probing it direct. does it prime with the ignition

dont buy the manual off ebay, u can just download it 4 free, dont buy it! lol

pump doesnt prime on ignition! i think there has to be an immobiliser or somthing wired up somewer, just cant seem to find it, really gettin annoying now at this stage, she come outta scotland mabey does someone know it. get a pic up tomoro, reg is H212 GRL

try connecting the fuel pump straight to a car battery to see if it works, theres a conector under the rear seat (drivers side), that will by pass the immobiliser and all the wiring and might give u an answer to wot ur problem is.

run the live from the batt, it did start the pump, ill just run a switched live to it now, thats that sorted, still cant get spark, power an all at the coil, mabey its done, how do i tell

personally i wont run a live from the battery i only sed that 2 test it,not permanently, because theres probably a safety cut out so if theres an accident it wont keep pumping fuel out, (not sure but most cars do)

check fuses and try replacing relays,
the fuel pump circuit diagram is in the manual (page184, or section 6E-36)
