thanks it is my long term idea to pick up a late plate standard but this chassis is solid everywhere else i want to keep the original gti going as long as possible although i know it wont last forever and that im fighting a losing battle against the root of all evil.

spack is right, it would prob be less of a hassle to reshell than weld that lot
but i would go for something a bit younger personally
