Post  benoit123 on Thu Mar 25, 2010 5:13 pm

hello all you brainy people

iv had my h reg swift gti for years, spent lots keepin it on the road, for last year iv had issues with the engine light. its constantly on. iv had it to suzuki and they said i dont have a hook up cable thing next to the battery so they cant find fault, iv looked in swift manual and it says that you have to first earth the fuse box which i have done and it cleared the light until you either slowly rev the engine then it flickers on, if you take it to 3k and then floor it it goes out any ideas? im so lost, oh and im canny stupid so layman terms please. ill buy you all an easter egg if you help me sort it

thanx peter

there is a self diagnostic on the fuse bord in the drivers footwell
its raised higher than all of the other fuses, pop a fuse in it turn on the igntion and the light will flash
*--** is code 1 2 which means every thing is fine
anything else and theres you problem

iv tried that today, went onto ssgti america and it also said to start the ignition, with the fuse in no ligh appears, with the engine running it is off until you slowly rev it then it flicker dim to bright, if you rev it up normaly it flashes on till it gets past 4k revs?

i had a print out that a friend gave me and it set put it in neutral,
when i first tried the fuse check with it in gear it didnt work then i tried it another time in neutral and it did, might of just been fluke or coinsidence, or i cud just b talkin out of my arse..................
