Boring out MAF and inlet manifold

Post  daymoon on Sat Apr 10, 2010 5:50 pm

Got an inlet manifold and a maf of a GTi..

Want to do the boring out mod..

I read that the Maf should be 49 mm, but i think that will destroy the wall of the casing? looks like its only 3mm thick and i managed to measure the inside diameter of MAF as 43mm...

How big should i get the inlet manifold hole made? same as TB?

going to get SR20 55mm TB soon.

it seems a waste for how much it wud cost for little hp gain and a loss in torque

steve made a thread when he was doin his about maf sizes and stuff think it was 48.5mm and if remember correctly steveh sed that his made his car run really crap

the inlet would need to enlarged at the opening so that the butterfly on the throttle body isnt obsructed by the manifold
