No he is going to sell the wheels & brake setup to fund a respray, we have loads of GTI brakes so these will be fitted. The car is NA & mildly tuned so the GTI brakes will be up to the job, the bigger brakes / wheels are awesome but overkill for him.

Jimbo is building this himself with a little guidance from me & Garndi, he has stripped the GTI & is busy cleaning everything up. He leaves school next Monday & will spend the summer holiday doing the car. The plan is to build it then get an MOT, after that he will strip it down again for a respray Very Happy

Not sure yet, we are PO11 so bloody miles from you. We may even attempt it ourselves, I have a huge compressor & spray guns. He needs to do it on the cheap as he is paying for everything Very Happy

if you need any tips on what to do/not to do just ask, pressures for spraying (etc)

Accountant by day, Chauffeur by night, Bodywork Specialist by weekend.

But im absolutely fucking useless with mechanics LOL! thats why i have my dad Smile

p.s Pressure pots are best for using to spray...guns lighter and you have more feel to it when spraying.

Hey Jimbo, make sure you treat any rust before undercoating.
