Jimbo has been hard at it today & Garndi has been over helping him
Bottom of car stripped completely wire brushed, treated with rust converter & undersealed

Rear subframe ready for refurb & GTI brakes will be fitted

GTI fuel pump fitted, tank will now be refurbed & painted

He also did a very good job of undersealing his face

I have been busy stripping another Justy for parts, ready for the space frame project we are doing

looking good mate, im also doing a Justy project atm.

While its in bits I suggest you take the rear diff section off and upgrade the mini prop which is before the viscous coupling as its made with 1.6mm thick steel. Really weak.

I think it should be alright on Jimbos car, he will have about 120BHP & promises me he will take it easy (in two years time). If we get problems I will swap it over, I have a spare Stainless prop setup & also a Suzuki Sport Viscous. Are you running a Turbo on your Justy conversion?

Regards

Jerry

To be honest Almondo, the main reason i'm selling the car is because I have 3 swifts. 1 turbo, 1 NA daily and the new 4wd project. 3 cars is too much, and yes I need the money to fund the new car.

At the moment Jerry its NA, i'm sorting the car out at present, its seriously rotten, i've just finished welding up one side and am now about to start on the other side. I've also fitted some CRX vtec calipers on the front and drag springs on the rear.
Next I'm getting the rear drivetrain upgraded, doing away with the viscous completely and replacing it with a longer 4mm thick stainless mini prop and welding the rear diff. Then koni fully adjustable coilovers on the front, before getting the dents on the car sorted and sprayed.

Then i'll start on the engine. It already running a tuned GTi engine so its not too slow atm Very Happy

I have the stainless mini prop in my Van & no viscous, it has front & rear LSD too. Once its moving it is fantastic but doing a 3 point turn is strange, the rear wheels skip. Have you driven a car with a welded rear diff?

No not yet, but from what ive been told, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Also I cant afford LSD's

What van is that? mini?

I would suggest you drove a car with welded diff, it is an acquired taste to say the least. I have a Mini van with Justy floor plan, running a Forged GTI engine, TD04 etc. I have driven Garndi's car & whilst awesomely quick it is hard work around town. Take a look in the gallery & you will see my van Very Happy

Well i'll probably have it done and if i dont like it i'll fit an lsd, Garndi told me that theres a company that sells the rear LSD's for £400 which is a very good price.

Yes I have seen your mini, very cool Very Happy
