Whats this and where does it go??

Right, im either walking in and setting my self up for a right slating because this should be on my car and is quite important, or it is the bracket for powersteering pump like i originally thought it was and i will be ok with the the micky taking.

Baisically i found this in the boot of the donor car where all the swift parts were stored whilst the conversion was in progress. I cant remember taking it off the engine or seeing it before i cleared the donor car, however now ive been driving the car about abit i think that the engine/gear box seems to knock about abit (maybe warn mounts) when bringing the clutch up a bit hard when monoovering in reverse or 1st.

oh and whilst im righting a new post, trailerd the swift to the exhaust place the other day coz they were gunna be working on both the swift and truck, heres a pic

looks like the bracket that holds the clutch cable...

no it braces accross the front of the engine to the bellhousing goes behind the exhaust manifold and curves round

It looks like the brace for the enigine mount on the timing belt side.

Ok so its needed by the sounds of it, could anyone take a picture of it fitted for me so i can see exactly how its fitted.

Feeling like a right plonker at the moment, driving a car without a mount fitted.

it dosent do that much

the front 2 bolts go on the face of the block

the single one has a bolt that goes through it into the front bottom half of the bellhousing


just jack up the car put it were the bolts line up and you will see were it goes

ahh right ok, i will go have a look and see how i get on.

Steve is right. One bolt goes through the brace and onto gearbox, another two go on block behind downpipe.

of course im right those who doubt me will be destroyed

if ya have sence u would bolt it in an weld all around it cause its not dat strong cause i broke minds but my friend welded his an had no bother wit it since how much is the lsd costing steve ya an were u gettin them

what ever you do dont weld it on
the heat will ruin the block

i think mad macs rely is for another topic and ive never seen cast steel and ally welded together very well

Uh oh, ive found another one!!

Im starting to think i need to get the car on a ramp and check everything my self, thats the problem when there is a number of people working on the car, one person thinks one of the others have done it, but their thinking the same.

Oh well, anyone know what this one is and where it goes
