Post  InstantCustard on Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:44 am

Hi guys/gals,

New on here, I'm actually building a 16v Mini with a G13B and am after help with parts and performance, will be looking at going turbo at a later date and no doubt will need some wisdom when I get to that too.

Thanks

Dan

Welcome to the site mate, post up some pics of your mini with the G13b conversion (would be good to see).

And if you have any questions just ask...

its at a very early stage right now, currently working on the shell, will keep you updated on progress at key stages, really looking forward to getting stuck into it, heard alot of good things about Swift GTi's and I'm looking forward to realising how good a little engine it really is for myself.
The basics are:
G13B
Vauxhall F17W355 Gearbox
Yamaha R1 Carbs
Piper Cams

Should be very interesting using the Vauxhall diesel gearbox, good luck with your build

Thought I'd share a few updates, mostly the Swift bits I've been playing with.
Here's my 60mm inlet manifold, bought from Jesse, reversed by Gary and finished by me.

Some sexy conrods.

The current state of the cockpit.

And the powerhouse mated to the Vauxhall F17 being trial fitted.

I have since started making engine mounts, got a few other sexy bits for the engine too, like these:

I had a modelmaker knock it up for me.
He used my original as a mould and vacuformed this one out of 3mm polycarb.
I was hoping he was going to make a batch up, but he was making it behind his bosses back and his boss wouldn't let him make a batch when asked.

I got it from Bill Falconer. He had 4 left over from years ago, I bought them all and sold them on.
If you want one I think Atchi aka Miniswift has a drawing which I'm sure he doesnt mind sharing for a small fee, or when I do my rebuild my engine you can use my plate as a template.
